New School, New Rules

As I entered my fifth year into teaching I started teaching at a new school. I’m still working in the same county but just at a new school. I knew my new school would come with new rules and responsibilities but I did not even imagine it would come with SO MUCH NEW EXPECTATIONS!

Today was our 63rd day of school.  In the past 63 days we’ve had back to school night, two major school wide programs, one awards assembly, an after school fall festival, basket giveaway, can drive, character parade and endless parent/teacher conferences. I have been amazed by the community involved and parental support that we have in my new school!

What makes me wonder…

Why aren’t all schools communicating about programs/events that are beneficial to the children and their parents?

Why can we do as a county to involve more communities within our neighborhood schools?

Now it’s your turn…

Any ideas? Any suggestions?
