There’s no better feeling than being appreciated as a teacher. We have long, tiring days… Days when we don’t eat during lunch, get a full night’s rest, or even get a chance to do anything on the weekends because we’re so tired from the long week. But every year for teacher appreciation week I am showered with gifts from handmade cards to teacher mugs. It’s not only about the gifts, let me say that again. “IT’S NOT ONLY ABOUT THE GIFTS!” It’s about the THOUGHT that someone, some little person cares about me soooo much that they show their appreciation for me during this special week!

This year was a little different, I felt a little sadness in my heart because I only had two students in my classroom during hybrid learning. All of the rest of my students were online at home learning. But to my surprise, gifts were dropped off to my school building for my teammate and I. This distance learning journey has been tough because I miss my little notes of love, hugs, and high fives. After a long school year thus far I am happy to say this is a week I’ll never forget. I will never forget the sacrifices parents make to show their appreciation for us! I’m truly grateful and blessed to be TEACHER!
