Hello 2026, Let’s Take Back Our Time!

I am embracing 2026 with a new found appreciation for a daily schedule. When I was resting and relaxing over my winter break I was tired and sluggish on the days where I actually had planned activities to hang out with my family and friends. My circle has been pressing me to keep my sleep schedule and choose one or two days to stay up late, but I didn’t listen.

On Thursday, January 1st I had an early breakfast with my small group and I was struggling to get out of bed. I kept telling myself I would take a nap later when I got home but once I got home I didn’t want to lay down. I figured it was best to just stay up and go to bed at a reasonable time later on. Well, I listened to my body and went to bed that night before 10pm and woke up the next day feeling well rested.

On Saturday I woke up and went to run errands in the morning with my family and accomplished way more than I intended to do. Then Sunday I woke up early and had an amazing day filled with checking off more tasks on my to do list and getting a good nights rest for Monday.

Today, was my first day back to work and it was a productive day. I kept reminding myself the day before to take back my time and use it wisely. I was able to make a video for my IG and TikTok page, I went to the gym, and I resumed bible study for tonight with my small group. I’m using my new motto of “taking back my time,” to push myself into being a better Jasmine. ✌🏽
