I am a recent graduate of Walden University with my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Studies and a specialization of Teaching Adults in the Early Childhood Field. My undergraduate studies was at Bowie State University with my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I taught second grade for 10 years and am currently teaching third grade in a public school located in the DMV area. With my blog and website I plan on networking with other educators and discussing topics that many educators face on a daily basis.

Professional Hopes & Goals

Hopes

While working with young children and their families my goal is to always make them feel comfortable. But now as I work with diverse families my hopes are to make sure they feel welcomed and included in my classroom. Children should always feel comfortable but to make them feel included is absolutely important. This course had enhanced my perspective to diverse backgrounds and family values.

Goal for the Early Childhood Education field 

One goal that I have for this field is to provide early childhood educators with more workshops and trainings to work with diverse families. Many of our educators will benefit from this because it will help build better family involvement in the classrooms.
