Hello 2025

2024 was a busy year for me, but I know you can say the same. It was filled with new obligations, responsibilities, and opportunities for me to grow in the field of education. Most of my year was dedicated to work. Whether it was teaching, afterschool programs, other work-related activities, or just my professional development for work, my year was dedicated to work. As I reflected on 2024 in December, I realized that I spent way too much time working. I lost sight of life and my other goals. So, I decided I wanted to get back on track. But clearly getting back on track was going to take some time since I was so involved with working and now I had to take work on taking back my time. I decided on the last Sunday in December (12/29/2024) that I would spend the next 60 days working on a daily routine for Jasmine. I am happy to say that as of today, day 63 I did not lose sight of my 60 day goal. In fact, I decided to extend that goal until May 1st. Accomplishing my goal and deciding to extend it meant it was now time to work on a new task, writing.

So, over the weekend I took some time to gather my thoughts to figure out what I wanted to do with my blog site. I decided that for the next ten weeks, I would dedicate one week to something new and update you all with my accomplishments by the end of the week! Every Saturday, I will give you a recap of how my week went and on Sundays I will start off fresh with a new weekly goal. This helps me stay on track of focusing on me and dedicating my time to something new weekly. Now, I know if someone who knew me personally read this, they would say you already have a lot going on. I actually do, but my life doesn’t operate in slow motion. I believe in balance and this will help me stay focused on me goal.

Week 1. This week I am dedicating my week to reading. Not reading for school or work but reading for pleasure. I have a book that I started reading in February and I wanted to finish it but I just did not read enough to finish it before the month ended. So, this week I plan on spending 30 minutes to 1 hour daily reading. That’s it! That’s what I am dedicating this week to. Now, by the end of the week I will let you know how the week went. I can tell you now, that I will read every single day. Once I set my mind to doing something, its going to happen. What about you? What will you dedicate your week to?
